RFIDuino v1.1 vs v1.2

RFIDuino Hardware Differences

The RFIDuino v1.1 and v1.2 shields have minor difference and have the same overall abilities, minus some modifications made to the v1.2 Shield.

This page will not go in-depth into the features of the RFIDuino, it will only highlight the differences in the boards.

1.1 Hardware

The v1.1 shield has the following charactersistcs

  • Has no revsision silkscreen / marking
  • Has a 4-pin antenna port and comes with a 4-pin antennna cable / antenna
  • Has a 2.mm 4-pin I2C Connector. This grove style connector has a white housing and looks identical to the antenna port

1.2 Hardware

The v1.2 shield has the following charactersistcs

  • Has the text Rev1.2 silskcreened at the bottom of the shield to the right of the XBee reset button
  • Has a 2-pin antenna port and comes with a 2-pin antennna cable / antenna
  • Has a standard 2.54mm 4-pin I2C Connector with no housing
  • Has an additional 8-pin header on the left of the board for additional power and analog input
  • RDY/CLK and DEMOD_OUT pins are now attached to pins 2/3, allowing for intterupt based reading.
